Eren, weirder in his head than usual, hasn't been very communicative with really anyone the past few weeks. Armin disappeared. Eren let that destroy him and hasn't let anyone put him back together yet. He has never once in his life taken loss well. This is better than death, sure, but their world is still a hellscape and he and Armin both know what waits there.
Will Armin remember this place? He has no idea.
Somehow Mikasa and Jean are lucky enough to have been removed from their nightmare world for years. Eren himself has had more than a year, something like a year and a half (time in his head is so hazy). It feels like nothing. It feels like forever. That's just his normal state.
Instead of calling like a normal person, he just shows up at Jean and Mikasa's place. He could talk to Jean about this, maybe, but he's not here for Jean. Mostly he's here to confirm that Mikasa is still here and real and tangible. (Logically he'd know if it were otherwise, since he'd have heard from Jean if nothing else. He's not exactly Mr. Logical.)
