But Mikasa smiles happily when she sees those rings. Ohh. Those. Go-- Her smile becomes very emotional when Jean's next word take her way back in their time together. All the way back to Empatheias and that day, when it seemed that he had left there and she had no way of knowing it for sure for a while.
Sure would have been nice having all of these ways to find each other back there back then too or at least ways of knowing he's still around. Then again, at least it really made her realize how important he is to her and how she wouldn't have wanted to be there without him after being suddenly ripped away from Eren, Armin, Sasha and everyone else too. It's been years, she still remembers it as if it had happened just now.
